In the UK, connecting with nature can sometimes be a challenge to achieve, however life-long friends and adventurers, Tom Backhouse and Alex Clasper, have made it their mission to revolutionise the way we access, experience and share time in nature, by launching CampWild.

The duo are working with landowners, trusts and custodians across the country to responsibly ‘unlock’ Wild Spaces, which are designated areas of private land, for permitted wild backpack camping and adventure.

Since launching, more than 75 Wild Spaces are available and the awe-inspiring network is growing every week. The environments and landscapes are unique and truly varied, and include everything from an Atlantic rainforest, wildflower meadows and working farms, to country estates and dense woodlands, with many offering access to beautiful waterfalls, lakes or streams, to name just a few.

Each Wild Space is unique in character and offers the opportunity to responsibly experience the wonders of the natural environment, on an exclusive basis, while supporting landowners with the conservation of the space, so it is preserved for future generations.

In addition to the Wild Spaces, through its online platform, CampWild also provides a directory of over 250 vetted Wilder Campsites, planning tools, a community platform, member benefits, brand-partner discounts, and access to exclusive events, workshops, and webinars with CampWild ambassadors.

Now, planning an off-grid adventure is possible, whether you are a novice or seasoned explorer, giving you the chance to disconnect from the modern world, and instead reconnect with nature.
