Take Camping to New Heights: Where to try out a Tentsile this Season

Every summer, outdoor lovers across the world gather their gear, head for the trees, and reconnect with the wilderness on camping adventures with friends and families. There’s something so special about camping trips – sleeping under the stars, wild dining, and gathering around the campfire with the people (and pets) you love – there’s nothing quite like the feeling of freedom it brings.

Whether you’re brand new to camping, or a wilderness veteran, there are always new locations and sites (and sights!) to explore. One of the most common questions we get asked is ‘I’m new to Tree Tents, where can I try one out?’ – so here are a couple of great locations to get you inspired, where you can experience the magic for yourself.

Alter Experiences

Escape the ordinary and awaken your wild side with a night in a Tentsile Tree Tent at Alter Experiences. Suspended high among the pines of Mount Laguna, San Diego, this unforgettable glamping experience blends the thrill of adventure with the serenity of nature. Imagine falling asleep to the gentle sway of the trees, the scent of fresh mountain air, and a sky full of stars just beyond your canopy. Designed for comfort and crafted with sustainability in mind, their offering gives a unique opportunity to unplug, reconnect, and rediscover your love for the outdoors. Whether you're seeking solitude, romance, or family fun, a tree tent stay is more than a getaway—it's an experience that stays with you long after you’ve come back down to earth.

ArboCamp

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Valais, Switzerland, with a night in a Tentsile at ArboCamp - an unforgettable way to sleep suspended among the Swiss alpine forest. Crafted by Yann, a trained arborist and mountaineer, and Pauline, an outdoor tourism specialist, this unique escape blends authentic local culture with back-to-nature adventure. At just one to one-and-a-half metres above the ground, your snug nest—complete with plush duvets, cushions, and thoughtful extras like camp chairs, local gourmet meals, and even a cosy campfire - is designed to spark deep connection, both with nature and loved ones. Wander up to your tree-lodging via a scenic 5–25-minute walk, inhale crisp mountain air, and drift into dreamland beneath stars framed by larch and pine. Whether you’re rekindling romance, building new memories with family, or just craving solitude, this elevated retreat offers comfort, simplicity, and soul-soothing alpine charm. Let ArboCamp lift you into a realm of wonder and awaken renewed.

Sandy Island YMCA Family Camp

Since 1899, Sandy Island has been the perfect backdrop for extraordinary experiences, spread across 66 wooded acres in the heart of Lake Winnipesaukee – New Hampshire’s largest lake. This year, for the first time ever – Tentsile will be gracing its shores! We’re thrilled to have been invited along to the Camp Nakamoto event – October 10th – 13th – where we will be setting up a bunch of Tree Tents and Hammocks to kick back, relax and enjoy nature’s spectacular views. With some of the World’s most respected Bitcoin experts leading vibrant discussions and activities, we’ll be disconnecting from the digital noise and reconnecting with nature, while diving deep into the world of bitcoin and its community. If you’re interested in joining us, tickets are going fast – so don’t miss out!

Not sure you fancy any of these locations? Not a problem – we have hundreds more to choose from out our Tentsile Map! There are options here to both bring your own, or book one for a stay in the wild, and you’ll find all the info you need here to get in touch with each site.

Great American Campout 2025 – 28th & 29th June

Now, if on the other hand you already have your trusty Tentsile (well done – good choice!) and you’re looking for an excuse to take it out for a spin – this weekend is a particularly good time to head out to the wild…

Take to the trees in this nationwide celebration; created by the National Wildlife Federation, the Great American Campout is an annual invitation to rediscover the outdoors—whether you’re deep in the backcountry, setting up in a national park, or suspending your Stingray Tree Tent between three sturdy oaks in your backyard.

The best part? Anyone can join—solo campers, couples, families, and hammock lovers alike. You choose the setting; nature brings the magic. Tens of thousands of campers join in each year to celebrate this much-loved tradition (2025 marks the 20th anniversary of this awesome event!) and we know many of our Tentsile community will be joining in the fun too! Share your adventures on social with #Tentsile and we’ll feature our favourite on our page.
