We’re Going Climate Neutral

Tackling climate change isn’t a lost cause. If businesses team up and lower their emissions, we can make substantial progress toward a low-carbon future.

That’s why we’re proud to announce we have committed to becoming Climate Neutral Certified.

We’re working with Climate Neutral, an independent non-profit organization, to measure, reduce, and offset our carbon emissions. The three-step process will give us net-zero carbon emissions, meaning we’ll reduce the amount of carbon we’re responsible for emitting, then zero out the rest by purchasing carbon offsets. Carbon offsets are investment projects that either prevent carbon from being emitted, like renewable energy or remove carbon from the atmosphere, like planting trees, which we of course already do by planting 20 trees for every tree tent purchased.

In 2017 we set ourselves the goal of planting 1 million trees by 2021. Nearly three years on we have planted over 600,000 trees with our tree planting partners WeForest and Eden Reforestation Projects.

These guys plant trees around the world but every month we specifically plant trees in Zambia with WeForest and in Madagascar with Eden Reforestation Projects.

Did you know that only 10% of Madagascar’s original forests remain today? Eden Projects partners with two National Park systems in Madagascar, which aim to reforest and revive natural habitat for endangered and endemic animal species.

The power of multiplication…

While Tentsile are already taking steps to help with Climate Change by helping to save the world's forest, we know there is still so much more we can do, which is why we have pledged our commitment to Climate Neutral to help lower carbon emissions and help save our planet.

In 2020 you’ll soon start seeing the Climate Neutral Certified label on our packaging/website/products. This label will help consumers consciously support brands that are leading the charge toward a low-carbon future.

Becoming Climate Neutral Certified is just a step in a long sustainability journey, but it’s a step in the right direction. Learn more about our commitment to a low-carbon future at climateneutral.org and find out more about why we’re so passionate about taking climate action.

We’re eager to start this journey and can’t wait to update you along the way.
