The Universe can be pitched in the air on top of a Trillium Hammock, on the ground making an insulated sleeping area, and even on water to create a massive lounging and diving platform! Huge, spectacular and infinitely versatile, the Tentsile Universe is in a league of its own when it comes to gear.
Winner of The Manual & Men's Journal Best in Show and The Gear Institute’s Gear of the Year, the Tentsile Universe 5-Person Tree Tent is the world’s first Three-Element Tent. Just as it sounds, The Tentsile Universe can be pitched in the air, on the ground and even on water!
The Universe comes with a Trillium 3-Person Hammock which supports the Universe when set up in Air Mode and is suspended between 3 trees. Everything you need for all three modes are included with the product purchase.
The rigid inflatable SUP base provides insulation in both ground and air modes but also allows the tent to float on water. This provides an amazing sunbathing deck and play structure, great for summer days at the lake or even for some casual fishing.
No matter where you go, Tentsile Universe will have you well-prepared when you’re face-to-face with the elements.
Please note:
- Only use Tentsile product after reading and in accordance with the product manual.
- Recommended setup height is 1.2m / 4ft.
- Due to continuous design improvements, details may vary slightly from those stated here.
- Tentsile products are not intended to be permanent structures. Every day your hammock is left up unused, is a day of use lost.
- Tentsile products have a UV rating which advises how many hours the product can be left out exposed to sunlight. This can vary depending on environmental conditions.
- Tentsile products should be stored after each use, ensuring it is both clean and dry.

- The Universe is built with a SUP board base that provides a stiff floor to walk on, but can also be softened if you want a less hard base to sleep on.
- The inflatable SUP board base allows the tent to be pitched on the ground, in the air, or floating on water.
- Designed for 5 adults (on the ground) and 3 adults (in the air), the Universe will hold a massive to 440kg / 880lbs.
- The Universe comes with a built-in no-see-um insect mesh to protect you from insects and other creepy crawlies.
- The 5000HH rainfly can be removed for fantastic views and summer breeze, but when attached, completely encloses the tent and keeps you dry. The rainfly extends outwards from the tent giving you a large, dry area underneath the tent to store gear or act as covered living space.
- The central hatch makes climbing into the tent simple when in air mode.
